After Much Impact From Port Harcourt To The World, We Are Still Broke - Reason Why We Must Say No To Free Service Come 2019 _ Young Endy Writes

As a new media practitioner based in Port Harcourt, 2018 haven't been too bad for me. Making a federal headline in the month of January with my “Salvation Ministry Mad-Man Healing Story”, my start for the year wasn't bad at all because I got huge reactions from media personalities across my domain.

Just maybe that got me listed for 30 Under 30 Media Personalities Of The Year by Mediaville Nigerian Organizers Of The Media Awards. Still in 2018, I received the award for new media platform of the year (Blog) during the #MediaAwards2018.

With jobs from Pivot Africa, The Nigerian Voice, London Le-Blanc Magazine where I worked as an online content writer from Port Harcourt alongside political positions as Media assistant, 2018 was an interesting year for me irrespective of the fact that I lost my mum and kid sister months ago.

Truth be told, after much impact from an ordinary Port Harcourt Boy, I am still broke even though I am not poor. The Industry hasn't been financially encouraging to Entertainers in this city and most persons have lost their vision because they realized that the journey wasn't an easy one.

For those of us who are still pushing hard, I think it's time we adopt the #NoFreeJob Policy. Most entertainers find it difficult paying for services rendered to them by another, because they feel you are helping them grow the industry #ShowMeLove.

The truth is, someone needs to start paying so we can pay others no matter how small. We must stop asking for love and start paying. I believe if we all invest, the industry will grow faster than it did this year.
