Meet Wonne Afronelly_ An Environmental Activist Dedicated In Her Movement To Control Pollution Across Niger Delta

She is a Super Champion and pacesetter in the Environmental Space.

Nelly is a Graduate of the University of Ibadan. Her undergraduate in Aquaculture & Fisheries Management and Training in HSE 1,2,3 from Palmsland Lagos UK HSO.

Nelly is constantly organizing Programs and shows to create Awareness on why we need to Protect our Environment. She has lead numerous campaigns over the years like the first Port Harcourt Beach Cleanup in 2013, Ibadan Ogunpa River cleanup 2014 and 2015 (earned her Oyo State NYSC Commendation Award), World Water Day, World Environment Day #1000ManMarch #WithNature, World Theatre Day 2018 amongst many others. She is a lover of Animals and Plants. This we see from her constant advocacy for society to promote ecocentric values over anthropocentric values that allows the environment replenish itself.

Nelly has some innovations from her final year seminar 2014  of using discarded plastic bottles to make living houses, farm houses, bush bars, bus shelters and more, She is Actively involved in Recycling (Upcycling).

In 2017 she also came up with #GreenGamesINnigeria an alternate verse to *Educate our subconscious* believing that knowledge gained during relaxation is deep and affects the decisions of man positively.
She started volunteering as coordinator  for Ocean Conservancy's Clean Coast Nigeria in 2012 and took it a notch higher in 2016 by starting off a *pro environment media* advocacy program, the first in Niger Delta and maybe in Nigeria at the time. The program *MyEnvironment, MyWealth* currently airs on Radio Rivers 99.1FM and Garden City Radio 89.9FM with partnership on other stations within Port Harcourt and Ibadan. In January 2017 Her works earned her the opportunity of hosting the *35th edition of Riv Ethics* the weekend character building show, a program of the first lady of Rivers State Justice Mrs Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom Wike.

Beyond the radio programs, Afronelly has started trainings for young ones to understand and become *Verdant Youths* in society. She has also been in the fore front of campaigning against the blacksoot in Port Harcourt, started donating plants that help filter air 9 times others (like the Aloe Vera plants as a temporary solution to blacksoot effects) to market men, women motor parks and individuals since January this year.
